A new lift in Socrepes for the 2025/2026 season

Our ISTA Ski Area now features a brand-new 10-seater gondola lift with automatic coupling, replacing the former Gilardon – Roncato and Roncato – Socrepes chairlifts.

This major upgrade allows us to offer an even more modern, efficient, and comfortable experience across our Ski Area.

Technical features

The new state-of-the-art gondola lift includes 10 towers and extends for about 1.33 km. It starts at 1,334 m above sea level and reaches 1,558 m, covering a vertical rise of 224 meters in less than 4 minutes.
With 53 cabins operating along the line, the system can transport up to 3,000 people per hour, significantly reducing waiting times and improving ride comfort.

Each cabin seats 10 passengers and offers generous interior height for easy boarding and disembarking. To speed up the boarding process, skiers will be able to bring their skis and snowboards inside the cabin, placing them into special slots built into the floor.

Objectives

ISTA’s main goals are to modernize and streamline the lift system, aligning it with the highest standards of comfort and safety:

  • Reduction in the number of lifts

  • Reduction in the number of stations

  • Reduction in the number of line towers

  • Increased comfort and safety (enclosed cabins, child-friendly transport)

  • Greater operational flexibility (summer and winter operation, pedestrian and bike transport)

  • Higher capacity and speed (shorter waiting times)

  • Removal of lift towers from ski runs

  • Improved flow management towards the Pocol – Son dei Prade and Tofana – Ra Valles areas
